Hello fellow smokers, my name is Arnold, 30yrs and I live in Valkenswaard NL (Just below Eindhoven).
Two years ago I bought an abused and molested '76 GT380, to save it from the scrapyard. She had a busted piston (see dead piston), and the exhaust was totally f***** up, so..... time two act! Had a hell of a time getting parts, but six months later, zero hour arrived: the awakening of the beast! Fresh fuel, fresh oil, everything checked and rechecked ( just to be sure), the kick start went down just three times......I never ever heard or saw anything like that before...... she slowly revved, 1000 rpm, shaking a little, smokin' like an industrial stack, and that was just the beginning... that was the moment I fell in love with this little beast ;-)
So, time for the first ride, a careful one, because the tyres were worn down beyond the limit (slicks with canvas).
Easy as she revved, I took her in to town, and I couldn't help notice the attention the bike attracted, people actually stopped and stared, specially youngsters with their mopeds and scooters :-)... Even the police noticed me, a motorcycle cop, who had only one response, thumbs up!!  (?!?.. got away with it this time!!)  Other bikers seem to notice you earlier and more often on a genuine smoker than on an all plastered up pocket rocket-like RRR thing.... this is real fun!!

Every day I take her for a spin she runs better and better...the new tyres improved her stability and handling by 200 percent, cornering like I never knew was possible ( I used two ride bikes which only could go straight, except one Honda 550 rat bike).

Here are a few pictures of my little beast for the Smoke Riders and the rest of the group to view.

So far, my intro.. Now where are the other smokers in Holland ?  In all two years I have had my GT I didn't see a single smoker like me, just those modern thingies who even refuse to wave at you.  Dutch smokers : WHERE ARE YOU ????
